Follow the path of your female ancestors
You received your genetic genes from your parents, who received them from their parents, and so on, from a generation to a generation, which means that you are a combination of genes from your parents, from your father’s side or from your mother’s side over ages and to infinity.
If the combination of such genes can be known by testing the DNA you have inherited from all your ancestors, the testing of the Mt-DNA will allow you to identify the gene you have inherited exclusively from your mother, which has been inherited from her mother, and so on up to the original mother of mankind without interruption.
Genetics has established that all individuals living on earth are the sons of a man and a woman who lived more than 125,000 years ago in East Africa. Then, their offspring began to expand outside Africa in the form of groups tens of thousands of years ago. Over the generations, each group developed distinct mutations different from other groups in other parts of the world. These mutations are called (Haplogroup) or individual group or (mtDNA Haplogroup) to distinguish the female maternal groups from the male patrilineal groups.
The DNA scientists have coded each group of mtDNA Haplogroup with a letter like (A, B, C, D …) and so on, where each letter indicates a maternal group, which is known as the maternal genetic Haplogroup (Maternal Haplogroup) or (mtDNA).
Mothers transfer their own (mtDNA) to their sons and daughters without a change, and only their female children transfer such (mtDNA) to their male and female children, and only females transfer the same lineage to their offspring and so on. The (mt-DNA) is not influenced by marriage with other lineages and remain unchanged.
Thus, it is possible for you to know your maternal genetic lineage you have inherited from your mother, who inherited the same from her mother, up to the original grandmother of mankind, and to know the people, groups, and persons you meet with only on the maternal line (cousins and upwards) or with whom you share the maternal lineage, which is in fact an original grandmother only on the maternal line for all children of maternal lineage.
This testing is recommended for groups that depend in determining the genealogy on the maternal lineage that inherits the family name from the mothers. It is also recommended for anyone who wants to know more about their history and the history of their grandmothers. Through this service, you will learn about your maternal genetic lineage (mtDNA), its first migration from Africa, the place and time of emergence, and the places in which it spread and moved during the early periods of the human history. This service will allow you to know the people who share the same maternal lineage and their places, and the rate of expansion of this lineage in the world at present.
We also seek to add the feature of genetic match, through which you will be able to know your relatives in the same maternal lineage and whom you meet at a maternal ancestor on the maternal line at a time tracing back to the last hundreds of years.
As the maternal genetic lineage (mtDNA) is inherited by both male and female children, both males and females can take this testing.
